Registration Fee Schedule

Member Rate: Current SER members are eligible for a discounted rate on registration. If you are not already a member, click here to join and take advantage of this discount. If your membership has lapsed and you select this rate in error, we will change your registration category to ‘Non-Member’ and ask you to pay the difference.
Student Rate: Only those attendees currently pursuing a degree at the Undergraduate, Graduate or PhD level are eligible for the student rate. Students will be required to present valid identification upon arrival at the conference.
Developing Country: For the purposes of SER2013, a Developing Country is any country designated by the World Bank as a Low-income Economy, Lower-middle-income Economy or Upper-middle-income Economy. Click here for a list of qualifying countries.
One-Day Registration: You are welcome to attend the conference for just one day of the scientific program. This option is not yet available on the online form because we have yet to schedule the scientific sessions, but we expect to begin accepting one-day registrations in mid-August. You will also be able to register onsite for one-day access to the conference, albeit at a higher rate.
Accompanying Partner: Conference attendees can register a guest for an additional cost of $275. This fee includes attendance at the Welcome Reception on Sunday, October 6 and daily field trips on October 7, 8, 9 & 10. Guests can also register to attend the Gala Awards Dinner and participate in pre-conference training courses or a post-conference field trip. Click here to learn more about the program for accompanying partners.
Optional Activities
Attendees can also register for a number of optional activities to be held in conjunction with the conference. Both attendees and accompanying partners are welcome to participate.
Pre-Conference Training Courses
A series of one-day training courses will be offered on Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6. Each course will run for one full day and require a separate registration fee. These fees include transportation from downtown Madison to the training course site, box lunch and light refreshments, and participation in the course. Click here for course descriptions and logistics.
Please note: Those interested in taking a course must register online since courses will be held before onsite registration opens.
Pre-Conference Volunteer Event
Conference attendees are invited to volunteer at one of two local restoration sites on Sunday, October 6 as part of the Make A Difference Day Event. Join us for a lively day of habitat restoration work at the UW-Madison Arboretum or the UW-Madison Lakeshore Nature Preserve. There is no cost to participate, and transportation and lunch will be provided. Click here for an overview of the event and a detailed description of the sites.
Please note: Those interested in volunteering must register in advance through the online registration form. Space is limited to 40 volunteers at each site.
Gala Awards Dinner
The Society will hold its Gala Awards Dinner on the evening of Wednesday, October 9 at Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center. This event is an opportunity to recognize the recipients of the 2013 SER Awards and bring conference attendees together for a lively evening of socializing and entertainment. The cost to attend is $75.
Post-Conference Field Trips
Field trips to a number of sites throughout southern Wisconsin will be offered on Friday, October 11. All field trips will depart from Monona Terrace on Friday morning and return in the afternoon. We encourage you to sign up for a trip and see some of the region’s amazing landscapes and ecosystems! Accompanying partners are also welcome. Click here for detailed descriptions of each trip.
